Ports Visited

Barcelona, Spain

Cruises from Barcelona depart year-round.

The streets of Spain's cultural center are lined with tapas bars and cafes and filled with musicians. City tours take visitors to Gaudi's eccentric Church of the Holy Family, the 14th-century Gothic Quarter, the Picasso Museum and the Spanish Village.

Palma de Mallorca, Spain

Approximately 60 miles off the coast of Spain, Mallorca is the largest of the Balearic Islands, with some 310 miles of sparkling coastline. Because of its ideal climate and strategic location, the island has attracted a variety of outsiders over the years, enriching the island with Roman, Arab and European influences. Passengers sailing into port will get an amazing view of the dramatic Gothic cathedral La Seu, set just above the harbor, and the hilltop Bellver Castle. Most excursions visit both of these sites as well as the Spanish Pueblo and the island's famous white-sand beaches. In valleys all along the coast, little fishing villages sit tucked away, with narrow winding lanes leading past cozy stone cottages and old Moorish estates. Also enjoy the breathtaking view of the Tramuntana range soaring majestically into the sky and countryside tours highlighting Valledemosa's monastery of La Cartuja.

Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy

Cruises from Rome (Civitavecchia) depart year-round.

In the Eternal City of Rome, Italy you can explore some of the world's most famous churches, monuments and fountains: the Colosseum, the Sistine Chapel, Vatican City, the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain (toss a coin in the fountain to ensure your return). Sip cappuccino at a cafe in a piazza or window-shop among the high-fashion boutiques of Via Condotti. Rome is served by the port city of Civitavecchia, located approximately 50 miles away.

Calvi, Corsica, France

Calvi sits on the northwestern tip of the island of Corsica. Above the town's marina is the Citadelle, and below the Citadelle extends the elegant Quai Landry, lined with restaurants and cafes. Take time to visit the 13th-century church of St. Jean Baptiste and Christopher Columbus' birthplace along the Rue de Fil.

Portoferraio, Elba, Italy

This small island boasts 91 miles of Mediterranean coastline. For those traveling on foot, the waterfront with its elegant shops and the town square with its old churches and terraced streets are appealing places. Visit the two forts, Falcone and Stella, the Piazza Napoleone, and the Villa dei Molini, Napoleon’s official residence during his exile on Elba.

Bastia, Corsica, France

On the northeastern coast of Corsica, the town of Bastia is stretched between sea and mountain. Walk around town and discover the sites of the old port, the market, Saint Nicolas place, the cathedral of Saint Mary and the Saint Cross vault.

Port Mahon, Menorca, Spain

Mahon is the capital of Menorca in the Balearic islands. The island offers beaches with water-sport rentals and a golf course in Son Park. From the harbor, the Rampa de la Abundancia leads up to the Plaza de Espana, where market stalls line the arcades of the former Carmelite friary. The town hall and the church of Santa Maria both stand in the Plaza de la Constitucion. The Ateneo Cientifico houses a museum of natural history, archaeology and art. Around the island, one finds small fishing villages and well-maintained holiday resorts. The Xoriguer Gin Distillery is located near the pier and provides samples and the opportunity to purchase their product.
